IRS My Aunts baby
Goodday
My wife and i are planning to file for my aunts baby.SHe is a citizen of the Carribbean and her daughter was born in the us this year 2003. we will be taking care of the baby while/and when the baby is in the us.My aunt has no interest in living in the us or obtaining residency.When my wife and i file our taxes 2004 can we use the baby as a dependent.

There is an IRS form that must be completed by the mother recognizing you as the person entitled to claim the deduction. This form can be obtained from the IRS website.
