If you owe taxes and have not filed a return, there is no statute of limitations. Returns are due for any year when your taxable income exceeds the minimum for filing, which depends upon your filing status and dependency status, and regardless of whether you owe money or are entitled to a refund. Thus, depending upon your income and filing status, tax returns could be due from birth to death.
