Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

Disobeyed traffic control device?

Yesterday I was driving on the NY throughway from NJ when I was pulled over by a State Trooper for speeding. I was going 87 in a 65 mph zone.

I handed the officer my license and registration as well as a pba card.

The officer instructed me to mail it within 48 hours. The ticket doesn't say I was speeding and it doesn't have a fine either. He also asked me to get the officer who gave me the pba to call him. Which I tried to but he never answered.

I looked up the offense and all I could find that it was a 3 point penalty.

So my questions are. Why did I not recieve a speeding ticket, why does it say disobeyed traffic control device when there are none on the throughway. Where is the fine? Should I plea not guilty? Please help!

Re: Disobeyed traffic control device?

Disobeying a traffic device carries fewer points than a speeding 87 in a 65 zone.I would be happy to discuss the specifics if you contact my office. A phone consultation is free of charge.

He either made a mistake or he cut you a break. I suggest you go to court and speak to the prosecutor to see whats up.
