Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York
what do i do if the other driver is denying responsibility?
I was in a parking lot of a big supermarket. The lot was very crowded and it was raining. I was standing in a car lane as the car in front of me was not moving. A car on the right side of us pulled out of a parking spot and the driver in front of me decided to park there. He was to close so he had to back up. He shifted in reverse and abruptly backed right into me. He immediately apologized and said he did not see me. My car was messsed up pretty badly , while his car, an SUV , suffered practically no damage. He gave a different story to the cops - he said that he was in reverse but was not moving and i hit him in the rear. He had no passengers and I had my sister in law in my car who saw everything. Several people that I apporached refused to give me their name or phone number nd said thay did not see a thing. We both have full coverage. What do I do?

The best thing is to turn it over to insurance or work it out with the other party. It sounds like your damage is minor so check your deductible on the insurance.
