Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York
Driver's License
I have heard that there is no law in New York State that says one NEEDS to get a license in order to drive. I can not find any law that says you need to have a Driver's License in order to drive. Could someone please show me where it states that one needs to have a license? And if it doesn't specifically state that, then is it not legal to drive without a license?
Thank You.

Re: Driver's License
In NYS driving is deemed a "privilege," not a right. It is a privilege granted by this State or some other state (or Nation) after qualifying for it. It is usually granted in the form of a license although NYS issues other documents to signify the privilege to drive if your are from out of state, or elsewhere.
