First, not placing a period, decimal point or dash before the sub chapter number of the statute is never grounds for dismissal on any appearance ticket.

Second, you have been charged with a misdemeanor, a criminal charge, this minor defect in the initial charging instrument is inconsequential. This is not a simple traffic ticket. You will notice that most likely the ticket you recieved was a different color but even if it is not it is very serious and you need to take it that way.

Third, you need to seek out an experienced DWI attorney now! Depending on the location that you have been arrested in, you are facing revocation of your license, jail time, a criminal record and possible loss of your vehicle by civil forfiture.
