Driving with a suspended license in MD NY resident
this past december in front of my private apartment in MD ( off campus housing at college), I was moving my vehicle because of a neighboring party and cars are known to be damaged during them. When I did this, there was a cop already in my parking lot because of the noise of the party. as i moved my car i was pulled over in my complex for 1 day expired registration and when he ran my license it came up suspended. I paid a ticket weeks before which lifted the suspension but it did not come up in the system. I was pulled over again 3 hours later by the same officer in my complex again. He stated that he has waited for me and this time I was arrested. I have been trying to obtain proof in NY that my ticket was paid and the suspension lifted but I have been informed NY residents do not receive receipts for paid tickets. I have to travel back to MD in 2 weeks for the double suspended license ticket. How can I obtain information from NY stating that my license was not suspended at the time I was pulled over. and furthermore if I do get this information is there anyway for me to send it to MD so I won't have to travel 5 hours for a court case?

Since this deals with the law of Maryland, you should be consulting with an appropriate attorney from Maryland. It might assist you to obtain a DS-242 from the NYS DMV website or at a DMV office, which is your abstract, and that should contain the information you need. That is the information "of record." Get proof of payment from your bank, as well.

Also, if you get the "proof" do not just mail it in. Either appear in court or hire a MD attorney to appear for you. Shouldn't be expensive and worth not having to drive 10 hrs R/T.
