Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York
Ice damage to my car
A very large sheet of ice broke loose from a tractor trailer truck in front of my son's car and cuased $1300 worth of damage. Trucking company claims it is not their problem. Cannot sue in small claims court in NYS since trucking company is from Iowa. Do I have any recourse to get them to pay the damages

Re: Ice damage to my car
you can bring a case in federal court since you have diversity jurisdiction on your case but most federal judges will do what ever they can to get the case out of their court. You will also need a lawyer since it is difficult to do cases in federal court.
You should call your insurance company to determine if they are obligated or will voluntarily represent you.
