Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York
If I am issued a traffic ticket but a mistake is made on it, am I still obligated to pay that ticket?

It depends on what the mistake is. A ticket or summons that is facially deficient must be dismissed but the error or mistake must be material in nature. When it comes to traffic or parking violations that would encompass correctly transcribing the correct information from the vehicle registration in the window and the plate information, but would not include transient descriptions such as color.
