Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York
whose liable?
I loaned my vehicle to a friend for a day to take into a shop and fix some mechanical problems, later that day while he was coming home without having the problems fixed he took a turn lost control of the vehicle and hit a curb. The impact ruined the rim and tire, and shifted the front suspension, the jolt was enough to deploy both air bags. This person does not way to pay the full cost of repairs, if i brought them to court in who's favor would the judgment go to?

Re: whose liable?
If your friend took the car to the repair shop only and, with more or less no detours, then you are responsible. 100%.
On the other hand, if you go for arbitration, the arbitrator may not know the law on this point. The result could be different.
Good luck.
