Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York
long wait for court date
I had a traffic ticket on the taconic parkway (Mount Pleasant Town Court) in March 05 for doing 78 in a 55 zone (measured using radar). I plead not guilty and still no court date yet -- the court clerk told me that NY has no statute of limitations -- theoretically, they can schedule my case 10 years after the actual incident. Is she right? What can I do to have the best chance for reducing the points -- this is my first ticket since 98. My main concern is the increase in insurance premium.

These cases are often plea bargained with resulting reductions in points. I do this type of work on a regular basis in addition to being a former Traffic Court Judge. You may call my office @ 7188340087 for a free phone consultation.
