You should go in voluntarily and deal with the ticket. Where was it returnable and what was the charge? Depending on what the charge is, you should hire a criminal defense attorney or an attorney who deals with traffic tickets to help you work something out. I will need more information on the type of ticket and the charge listed on the ticket.

First, was this a standard traffic ticket or was this a desk appearance ticket which is used for a criminal charge but they still only give you a ticket which makes it appear less serious but is really an arrest.

Second, what was the charge listed, if it is only a traffic violation, you can appear and clear it up usually very easily. If it was aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, section 511.1 of the VTL then it is a criminal charge and your right there may be a warrant for your arrest in which case you should get an attorney.

Third, what jursidiction (county) did you get the ticket in, that will tell me the situation as well.
