Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York
PA driver speeding in Queensbury Co.,New York
I was ticketed for 79 in a 65 around Glen Falls NY. The officer told me, which made no sense to me, that if I pled NOT Guilty, that it would be knocked down to the equivelent of a parking fine, however I'd have to return to Glen Falls to do it. That is 6 hours away and close to 400 miles. The fine I was given has no fine amount to pay should I plead guilty.
What would happen if I just IGNORE this fine.

Usually if you ignore a ticket, your privileges in NYS will be suspended. If PA follows NY's practices, you will get a letter from your DMV suspending your license unless you attend to your ticket in NY.

Do NOT ignore the ticket. If you do, you will be suspended in New York which suspension will transfer to Pennsylvania. You can hire an attorney (such as myself) who can represent you at the court without you needing to be there. Points do not transfer from NY to PA but any conviction will be reported to PA and your PA insurance company will learn about it (and of course can use it to raise your rates). Feel free to call me at 212@6837373 to discuss how we can make fighting this ticket easy and simple.
