Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York
Never Paid Ticket
I received a seat belt ticket in May of 2007 in New York City. I lost the original ticket issued by the police officer and never received any type of correspondence in the mail from the Dmv or the Traffic Violations Bureau. I got an abstract report of my license in July and it said it wasn't suspended and currently active. Should I be worried about that ticket just popping up sometimes later?

Re: Never Paid Ticket
1. These things can show up a year later. The administration can be very slow.
2. File for a 'supplemental affidavit' from the ticketing officer. This can be done at the courthouse.
This is the standard 1st step in any traffic action.
