Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

Parking ticket

Hello

my question is related to a double parking ticket. It was alternate-side day and there was no parking spots to be found anywhere typical ny. so i double-parked in front of my house. when i came back out to move my car at 9:55am to the side where alternate side which ends at 10 am there was a ticket written supposedly 10:01 am for double parking on my car. there are possible errors on the ticket....

1- it says that permit was displayed.. what permit? there was no # listed

2- I live in a different prescient then the one that was written. The one written is about 3 miles away from my house.

3- the agency that the person is in is not filled in.

should i fight this in court? would i win?

Re: Parking ticket

always fight parking tickets, if you have the time. give it your best shot.

the empty box might be enough, the wrong time is a shot, and the talk of a permit may help. the precinct is irrelevent.

good luck.

Re: Parking ticket

I don't know that you have a viable defense with respect to the precinct location. Errors and other information that is improperly filled in might be viable. Your time defense does not seem to be viable. You were not legally allowed to double park at any point. I would try to attack the way the ticket was filled in.
