Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York
I was pulled over for speeding 81 in a 55 in New York State on October 28th this year and charged 165 in ticket fines. I paid the ticket promptly but now have received a noticfication that I am being charged $300 for a Driver Assessment program.
I am NOT a NY resident, do NOT carry a NY License. Do I have to pay this fine being a resident of Massachusetts? If I do not pay the fine, what will happen?

the answer to your question about paying the surcharge called the Drivers Responsibility Assessment is yes. If you do not pay, your privileges to drive in New York will be suspended. If this happens, Massachusetts will most likely suspend your license. I do not agree with this but you are stuck. Welcome to New York.
