Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

have a question about a summons..

i got into a lil car accident 3 weeks ago due to weather conditions and roads were really icy. i was driving down 25a aka middle country in selden, ny. i was heading to work. i was turning right going 5 mph and i accidently slid and went over the lil divider and accidently hit/tapped a car. i rolled down my window and asked if she was ok. and she just waved me on. now today i just got a summons because i left at the scene but i was in my car for a half hour and i saw no cop car and no vicitim.. so i went into work. she said she filed the report at 2pm when it happened. she has a lil dent in her fender and i have a lil crack. what will happen in the court room? will the judge suspend my license, take away my license, or have me pay for the damages? please hlep

Re: have a question about a summons..

Leaving the Scene of an Accident is a criminal charge and you are being charged with a crime. The possible penalties are jail, probation, fine, loss of license or all of the above. You should have an attorney, this is not something that you want to do alone.
