Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York
I received a ticket in NJ for "improper passing" on State Route 17. NYS DMV says it "does not record out-of-state violations committed by NYS drivers in other jurisdictions," but I was wondering if my auto insurance company will get notified of the ticket. In case it helps, I have a clean record otherwise.

A NJ conviction will be reported to NY DMV (even though points don't transfer). Therefore, your New York insurance company will likely find out about it.
