Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

Received a ticket for not wearing a seat belt in NY. Did not respond to it and when stopped a 2nd time for same thing, when license was ran by trooper it came back as suspended. Received a ticket for no sear belt and one for driving on a suspended license. Now license is expired. How should I approach this situation to rectify it?

The first step is to respond to pay off the first seat belt ticket and get the suspension lifted. Then, when you go to court on the new matter, you can show the judge that the undelrying problem has been cleared.

The driving while suspended charge is a serious one. It is misdemeanor to do so and it is called Aggravated Unlicensed. I recommend that you engage an attorney to help fight this and avoid a criminal record.
