Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York
Seatbelt & Cellphone laws in NY
Can you be pulled over for cellphone use or not wearing a seatbelt in NY. I thought they need to have another reason first.
Please advise

Re: Seatbelt & Cellphone laws in NY
Both driving while using a cell phone and not wearing a seatbelt are violations of NY Vehicle & Traffic Law, and as such are good enough reasons alone to be stopped and ticketed. No other reason necessary.
