Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York
speeding ticket conference on a summons
I received a ticket for doing 59 in a
35. I have nothing on my record,
and sent in the ticket with a plea of
not guilty asking for the officer to file
a supporting deposition. I received a
copy of what he filed (where my
name was spelled wrong if that
matters) and a separate letter from
the court with a date and time to
appear for a conference on the
summons - what is this conference,
and what can i do to prepare to try
and get the ticket at least lowered?

The conference is an opportunity to plea bargain. Bring in all the information you have brought to our attention in the question and seek to get a plea bargain of no worse than a 3point failure to signal.
If you want a real benefit, hire a lawyer, They know the court and the plea policy. If you want some help with this or any traffic related issue, you may call our office or e-mail me. Just follow the links below.

A competent traffic court attorney could help effectuate a reasonable plea bargain. I am a former Traffic Court Judge with 25+ years of adjudicating cases of this nature. You may call my office @7188340087 for a free phone consultation.
Re: speeding ticket conference on a summons
This is a 6 point ticket and is therefore definitely worth fighting due to the points, the negative insurance consequences and fines. In fact, this ticket carries an extra $300 fee due to the fact that it is 6 points. We can save you the fee and you will not even have to come to court. Since 1991, we have been making it easy and un-complicated for our clients. Give us a call or email us at [email protected]
