Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York
Speeding Violation
I got a ticket yesterday in the Town of Athens in NY for 80 mph in the 60 pmh zone. I am a NJ driver. What can I do to reduce it to no points.
P.S. Also, on the ticket it states that I was going North while I was actually driving South.
Please, help!

Re: Speeding Violation
We handle cases in Athens frequently. Your ticket is probably in a 65 mph zone. We would usually negotiate a reduction on an 80/65 ticket to a non-moving violation that counts for no points in NY and NJ. On a bad day we'd get a 2-point violation in NY that counts for no points in NJ. Our fee is $500.
