Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York
I got a ticket by NYPD for violation of 1180D in the Bronx, NYC. Speeding 78mph in a 50mph zone. NYS driver. 1st offense.
NYPD officer said it would cost $78 and no points, but that is not what I see online. I tried connecting on the DMV website and the ticket has not been entered yet (3 days later).
What is the most likely outcome? Thank you!

This ticket carries 8 points, roughly a $150 fine and a $300 Driver Assessment Fee. In NYC (including the Bronx), there is no plea bargaining or deals. Therefore, if you plead not guilty, you will either be found guilty or not guilty (i.e., all or nothing). It is impossible to predict outcomes but it is very difficult to beat such case in NYC. You may want to contact a NY traffic lawyer for help.
