Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York
Ticket for passing a school bus 2 years ago
I got a ticket for this more than two years ago. I have a NYS driver's license, but I am working outside of the country. I just got a notice that the DMV is going to revoke my license because of this ticket. Is there anyway to fight this and do I need to be in NY to fight it or can I hire a lawyer to do it for me? Thx.

That's what lawyers are for...
In most cases you can sign a waiver authorizing your attorney to act on your behalf.
What court? In some even a waiver isn't required.

Pleading not guilty and requesting a hearing is always recommended. The driver can benefit by having a hearing. More often, however, the ticket can be resolved through the mail. Hiring an experienced traffic attorney in the area that understands the local court system and the NY V&T law is vital to not only trying to win, but to keep your insurance premiums lower for years to come. Paying a little today may save you two or three times in the future.
Our firm handles these types of issues and would be happy to help. I would need to review the ticket and see what can be done. Please contact my firm and I would be happy to assist.

You can by authorization enable an attorney to act on your behalf without you being present. The notice you received indicated your license would be suspended /revoked for not answering the summons, an experienced Traffic violation attorney can help you resolve the situation. I handle these matters on a regular basis, you may contact my office @7188340087 for a free phone consultation.
