Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

I got a ticket in the small town of Ticonderoga, NY for speeding and possession of marajauna. Im seventeen and my parents cant drive the 5 hours from where I live in New Jersey to court because of work. The ticket says I must appear in court for the marajauna charge only, but it is my first offense and it is decriminalized in NY. What can I do, the court date is only about 2 weeks from now. Would they really hunt me down if i'm never going back to Ticonderoga and I just skip out on both tickets and court?

The court will issue a warrant and some day you will be driving in NJ or anywhere and a cop will pull you over and there will be a warrant for your arrest and possibly a suspended license. You will spend time in jail. Tell your folks about it and go to court. I expect the court will be lenient. The only mistake you can make is not going to court. You should consider looking up and hiring an attorney who works in Ticonderoga in advance of the court date.

You must appear and answer these charges, failure to do so may result in a warrant being issued and a future arrest and detention. You might retain a local attorney to appear and plead in your absence. You may contact my office @ 7188340087 for a phone consultation.
