Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

Getting a transcript from a court action.

Why can't i get a transcript of a judgement situation where I am sure the lawyer I had from the insurance company was compensated from the other lawyer to find me guilty in order to collect from my insurance company.

In order to get a copy of the transcript the court stenographer wanted several thousand dollars. I am on a very small social security income and I never could afford to get justice.

Re: Getting a transcript from a court action.

The transcription is the property of the court reporter who has a right to charge for the time it takes to transcribe the testimony. She has only the right to charge the amount allowed by law.

If her charges are too much, you can petition the court to grant you in forma pauperis status and they might be able to get the transcript for you for free. That said however, the court is going to require you make a prima facia case as to your allegations. Fraud hurts your insurance company as well as you. Have you spoken to their fraud division about your suspicions?
