Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York
New York Ticket - New Jersey License
1) Ticket received in NY for going 86 in a 50 MPH zone. NJ license has 5 points. Only 2 Points transfer to NJ License. What would be the status in NY - 8 points? 13 points? Or none (NJ License)? Can the license be suspended in NY?
2) NY Driver Responsibilty Act passed in November 2004. Does it apply to out-of-state drivers? The ticket was received in March 2004. Two hearings rescheduled by the DMV. Am I still liable for the surcharge fees ($100 per year for 3 years)?
3) What is the maximum fine possible if fighting the ticket (including court fees) if found guilty? Not Guilty?
Willing to hire a lawyer to fight the ticket. Please respond accordingly.
Thank you.

Re: New York Ticket - New Jersey License
Your question requires more information than you provided,I would be happy to discuss this with you on a free phone consultation. You may call my office @718-834-0087 The new license conviction fee you mentioned is very recent and it's implementation hasn't been visible yet. The translation of points from state to state depends upon the violation and it's statutory wording.
