Accounting of Estate

My grandmother's will was put into probate by the executer, I received my inheritance. Does any kind of accounting have to be submitted to probate. It seems they didn't submit anything to probate I checked with the courts.

I know they have lied about the value of the estate but since I got my inheritance, I've been told to stay out of it. Just wondering what is legal.

As a beneficiary of an estate you are entitled to request and receive an accounting.

If you don't get it from the Executor or his attorney, you can go the the Surrogate's Court to request that it be filed.

You state you received your share of the estate. Was your bequest what is known as a specific bequest (e.g., I give my grandson $10,000)? Were you entitled to a percentage share of the estate? Either way you are entitled to an accounting, and they are required to give one to all beneficiaries, and to the court, unless all beneficiairies waive an accounting. If you were entitled to a part of the estate determined by the size of the estate, don't cheat yourself, get the accounting.
