Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

How would an administrator retrieve documents from an unwilling relative

I was living in another state when my father passed away in New York City in 1999 (I'm the only child and he was never married). By the time I arrived in N.Y.C. all of his property, personnal and otherwise were taken by his family members. I became the administrator of his estate in 2000.

Questions: How would I go about retrieving his documents and his belonging from family member and I've been having a hard time with the company he work for-for 23years. Company name Verizon (please do not use company name if you reply). The company that finance his car (Legend) will not give me the location of the car only said it was paid for after his death.

Some money from the company he worked for was sent to family member (his-mother).

For starters, the taking of such property may

well be a criminal act, and the threat of a criminal

prosecution brings results

Lawsuits against those with the property works well

Subpoenas for the records from the companies also

works once a litigation is started.
