Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York
If someone bought a winning power/mega ticket in NYS, can they, in order to protect their privacy move to a state like CT and claim it under a trust? I am not too worried about paying NYS taxes and dues, my privacy is what is most important. Thank you.

The correct answer is Yes and No. Let me explain in more detail. Yes it is possible to keep your privacy but someone will have to be "the fall guy". You can have a Trust or even a corporation created to own the lottery winnings. The Trust or Entity you create will have to have a named person for legal reason such as service of process and legal notices..... this named person does not and should not be you to protect your identity.
I hope that helps and have a good day.
