Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

My boyfriend has asked me to help him find this Will and Trust Fund that was left to him by his grandparents. How do we locate both without any knowledge of where to start? They lived in Plainfield, NJ. To collect on his Trust and Will he had to turn 30yrs old. He became 30yr in December 2009. Need to find the info/money ASAP.

Start by checking with the Union County Surrogate to see if a Will was filed and, if so, who was appointed Executor and Trustee . This may also lead to the attorney for the estate who has more information. Also check the Uncalimed Property Fund of New Jersey to see if any assets have been turned over to the State.
