name change advice
I would like to change my last name to my mother's maiden name. what is the procedure? thank you.

Re: name change advice
An application has to be made to the Court where you live. It includes an affidavit as to why you want the change. As part of the application, you must also advertise the legal proceeding (the Court will instruct you as to the allowable papers).
If there is no objection and the purposes for the change are not for fraudulent purposes, it should be granted.
