Court letter for claiming funds

My mother recently passed away. I find that a checking account she had has no beneficiary. As the executor of the will how do I gather these funds for distribution to her heirs

Well, if the estate is under $ 20,000, then you can commence a small estate proceeding with the Surrogate's Court (it is a simple application and the Clerk can assist you with it). If the account is over $ 20k, then you would need to commence a full probate proceeding which you should retain an attorney to assist you with.

We handle these types of matters. You may contact me directly at anytime for a complimentary consultation.
