Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York
My Dad added myself and my sister to the deed of the house in the summer of '06. It is agreed that I will take over the house upon his death. I moved in a week ago to give him help in his declining health (I'm an RN). He is now in the hospital and his return home is unlikely due to rapidly advancing dementia. If he has to get medical assistance to pay for a nursing home, am I going to lose the house? I will literally be homeless in my 50's. This is NY state.

No, you will not lose our house under these circumstances. It is best that you speak with an Elder Law Attorney for further information and medical care planning.
