Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York
My dad recently passed. He did not have a will, however he has property and we are six children not wanting to keep the property, what are the next steps?

If you want to sell, the estate must go to Administration and an Administrator appointed by the Court.

If all siblings are willing to sell, they can, as the heir's at law of your father. It is not necessary to go through Surrogate's Court.
