death and credit card debt

My sister in law recently passed away. No husband or children. Only survived by 85 year old mother and 55 year old brother. No will. Credit card debt excessive amounts. Is family responsible for paying credit card bills?

No. The estate would be responsible for the credit card.

If the credit cards were in your sister in law's name alone, the family is not responsible.
