Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

Am I entitled to my money back?

My husband and I gave my parents two grave lots a number of years ago because we wanted to provide them a burial place in the event of their deaths. My father just passed away and it has come to my attention that my mother is having his remains cremated instead of ground burial. I suspect that both my parents turned around and sold the burial lots for the money.

My question is am I entitled to have my money refunded because we gave them as a gift to be used for burial?

Thank you!

Re: Am I entitled to my money back?

Unless the plots were presented to them as a conditional gift, I'm afraid that a gift once granted becomes the property of the recepient, who can do with the gift anything he or she sees fit.
