Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

Estate Question

My husband's uncle passed away 3 years ago, his will is being held up in court; his estate is being sued by a neighbor who claims she nursed him for 20 years and wants to be paid for her time. She has no proof of this. She has a copy of a will that mentioned her as a beneficiary however the family's later will does not include her. The case was supposed to have been decided in March, still no decision. My question: should it take this long to be decided? We are not getting answers from the lawyers in charge. thank you

Re: Estate Question

If it was heard in Court, and you are still waiting a decision, it's easy to find out if it's been decided. You may even be able to look up on line if the decision is pending, or you can go to the Court and ask the clerk. In any case, I've had cases that have taken up to 9 months before a judge has filed a decision.

Should you like to discuss this or any other legal matter, you can e-mail me for more information about low cost face-to-face, on-line, or a telephone consultation with a lawyer in our office.
