estate question

If a will states ''I make the following specific bequests of real property'' does this mean the property is being DEEDED to the person stated in the will?

No. It means that a specific individual is given certain real property under the terms of a will. A deed is a document used to transfer real property.

No. But its a direction to the executor to prepare a deed for the property from the estate of the deceased to the beneficiary.

Both Mike and Steve are correct. The Will only specifies which beneficiary is to receive the property and is a direction to the Executor to carry out the direction of the decedent. A Deed and related documents must be prepared and recorded by the Executor to carry this out to accomplish the legal transfer of ownership.
