Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York
Estates-inheritance
I have been contacted via email from a person proclaming
themselves as a lawyer from another country-Africa
requesting that i present myself as the next of kin
to collect the funds of an estate for a person who has
supposedly died along with there immediate family-this
person has the same last name as i do. Is this legal?
Or is this some internet hoax? If legal, can you recommend
a course of action.

Re: Estates-inheritance
Be wary. This is a major scam going around. Give no information and report it to your local Consumer Affairs Office and the Attorney General.
