Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

I'm the executor of a estate...I hired a lawyer until I got my testmentary paper, however my question is I've did work on my own, plus used some of my money to pay bills etc. Can I get commission for

serving as a executor..we are not selling the house. it's a 2 family.......but I would like to get some

kind of commission for my faithful work trying to tie up loose ends on this last will and testament

I personally is running out of funds. I was told the judge has to okay my commissions is this true ?

Can I collect my commissions now ? I still have more work to compl Thanks. I live in new york.

How is the commission to be paid if the assets are not liquidated, plus how are you to be reimbursed for the funds you personally provided to pay estate bills? While it is not mandatory that the Court approve the commissions, it is always possible for the heirs to contest them, so it is recommended that either heirs approve the payment or the issue is resolved by the Court. Commissions are usually paid when the estate is completed. but can be the subject of a partial payment now.
