Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York
not fair
Dad passed away leaving no will. My attorney says my stepmother is intitled to everything under 50 grand.My sisters and i signed papers granting her executor status. After all the bills were paid there's 14 grand left. Now her attorney wants us to sign papers giving her the 14grand. If I dont sign it do I get a court date? If I did get a court date would it be suicide to explain this unfairness to a judge?

Distribution of an estate is statutory if there is no will. Surviving spouse gets the first $50M
