Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York
My father and brothers have been estranged from me for about 15 years. My dad just past away and I received the Waiver to the will and a copy of the will purposely excluding me from his estate. The will lists my name as Kathryn Samuelson Brickley, which has not been my name since 2003. He was fully aware of my marriage and of my married name, Kathryn Carol Burns (Samuelson is my maiden name). The envelope was addressed properly from the attorney's office so he was also aware of my current legal name. Is this will legal regarding me and any standing in his estate?

I need to see the Will to provide an answer. It is possible you might have a claim, but more facts need to be explained and explored.
