Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

my father just passed away and he was hit by a car.. i have never meet him until a few monts ago.. someone calld me and said a law office was trying to find me and they hired him to find me... its a personal injury office.i think his wife is trying to sue. when i talked to him he told me they were split up but still married.. i just wanted to know if i have to sign nething over or if i am entitled to anything. and if i am how do i go about getting what i deserve

Whether or not you may be entitled to any money, depends on whether your father had a Will or not. If he had a Will and did not leave anything to the children, the Will could possibly be challenged.
