Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

My father passed away in New York. He had a trust and I was one of the beneficiaries. I would like to renounce/disclaim my share and allow it to pass to my children which is in the wording of the trust document if I were to pre-decease my father. Is there a form that I must file? Where can I get this form? Does it matter that I live in Florida?

Of course you can renounce your share of the trust. What will happen in the event of you doing that is controlled by the language of the trust. Before you take any action that might not result in what you want to happen it is important that you let competent counsel determine what options exist and then work with the trustee to get the results you are hoping for.

You will have to contact the trustee and his counsel as to what document they want.
