my father had a supermarket that he out. He is now dead, is the contract on that supermarket still binding

I am not sure what the contract is about, as you do not describe it. But, usually contracts are still valid and the estate steps in the shoes of the decedent. However, I would need to see the contract to see if the general rule applies to your situation.
