can I find what was in my dads will.. is it true nothing can be left to adult children and all to step mom.. I live in NY.. dad lived in NJ

If the Will has been probated, by simply caqlling the Surrogate in the County where Dad resided when he died, will give you a lot of information and, for a few dollars, you can get a copy of the Will. It is not true in NJ that the entire estate must be left to a surviving spouse, and children from a prior marriage can inherit, if they are adults or minors.

A parent can leave nothing to a child in a will.
