Your friend is looking to make a Will and needs to name someone to administer his estate when he passes away and the Will is submitted for probate. The Executor (position he is asking you to take) is responsible to probate the Will, pay any bills due and/or taxes that may be due, and eventually distribute the estate as the Will provides. This is not diffuclt and usually an attorney assists. Fees can be paid to you for rendering this service, as provided by statute, so you can be compensated for your work.
