Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York
A friends father passed away recently. Their mother is still alive. Their sister is taking care of the accounting for their mother. He is unsure if there is a will by the father. Is there a way of finding out if there is a will ?? (besides asking his mom/sister since they do not get along well)

A reasonable diligent search for any will must be undertaken by the personal representative. This may include contacting his attorney and the probate court in his county.
