Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York
my grandmother passed away, we know she had a will. My aunt is the power of attorney who we don't talk to (and is not on the up and up). Is there anything that guarantees her will is read and wishes met?

The power of attorney becomes void upon the death of the individual that signed the power. You may ask the aunt about a will. If a will cannot be located, you may petition the Surrogate's Court to be the administrator of your grandmother's estate.
